Wake Forest, NC – Calendar of Events for July 20 – 26, 2009

This past week in Wake Forest NC has been busy!  Busy in the local stores in Historic Downtown Wake Forest, the Wake Forest Coffee Shop has been bustling and the local pool has been brimming over with area kids seeking a respite from the heat!  Check out what is in store this week in Wake Forest NC.

Preschool Playgroup

Wake Forest Baptist Church is hosting a preschool playgroup. The playgroup is free and open to the public. It’s a great opportunity to meet other parents while socializing your child. 

Community Outdoor Movie Night
Friday, July 24; 8 pm
Stephenson Center at Wake Forest Baptist Church, 12120 Wake Union Church Rd.

The Outreach Team of Wake Forest Baptist Church proudly presents our 4th season of Community Outdoor Movie Nights. Additional movies will be shown on August 14. All movies are shown under licensing from CVLI. Friday, July 24, join us to watch College Road Trip. Bring your blanket or lawn chair, sit back and relax while watching the movie and enjoying free drinks and popcorn.

Wake Forest Farmers’ Market
Saturday, July 25; 8 am – Noon
Downtown Wake Forest – Municipal Parking Lot 
The market offers fresh produce, pasture-raised beef, poultry and pork, free-range eggs, fresh and dried herbs, honey, jams and preserves, plus a whole lot more. The Farmers’ Market is open from 8 am to noon every Saturday April through November. www.wakeforestmarket.org 

Six Saturdays in Summer for Storytelling Finale
Saturday, July 25; 10:30 am – 11:30 am
The Storyteller’s Book Store, 100 E. Roosevelt Ave., Wake Forest

Preschoolers are invited to stop by The Storyteller’s Book Store on Saturday morning from 10:30 – 11:30 for a storytelling hour with Shelley Riselvato of Enchanted Garden Preschool. The fun begins with two story songs including the “Mother of the Fairytale.” Bring the entire family for a great Saturday morning. 

Wake County Public Safety Softball Tournament
Saturday, July 25; 9 am
Zebulon Community Park, 401 S. Arendell Ave., Zebulon

Support your local public safety departments as they play softball to benefit the 200 Club of Wake County. The 200 Club is an organization who provides immediate financial help to all spouses and children of Wake County police, fire, and EMS persons killed in the line of duty. If you can’t make it to the game, you can still contribute to this wonderful cause by visiting www.200clubwakecounty.org/home.html.
