Turning of the Season Celebration at the Farmers Market
Saturday, June 19; 8 am – noon
Wake Forest Farmers Market, 110 S. White St.
Join us for the Turning of the Season Celebration featuring demonstrations of a potters wheel, spinning wheel and lathe, and an educational exhibit by the Butterfly Lady. A release of the butterflies at 11:30 am will welcome the new season. The exhibit educates the public about the life cycle of the butterfly, what to plant in local gardens to attract both adult butterflies and their caterpillars, and the importance of butterflies in a healthy environment. It includes live butterflies, eggs, caterpillars, chrysalises and adult Painted Lady butterflies on display. Painted Lady butterflies are colorful North Carolina natives and natural pollinators. During the last hour of the market, we celebrate the event by releasing the adult butterflies. http://www.Butterfly-Lady.com http://www.wakeforestmarket.org
