Wake Forest Farmers Market: Canning Demonstration

Purple Heart Dinner

Tickets are on sale and sponsorships available for the second annual
Purple Heart Dinner on Saturday, August 7 (Purple Heart Day). The
dinner is open to the public as it honors military vets who received the
Purple Heart. The decoration goes to those wounded or killed while
serving with the U.S. military. World War II vets and widows of Purple
Heart recipients are also invited to attend free of charge. This year’s
featured speaker is retired Marine Col. Wes Fox, who earned the
nation’s highest military award, the Medal of Honor, for valor during
the Vietnam War. Tickets are on sale for $15 at The Wake Weekly, 229 E.

Pancake & Sausage Breakfast
Sunday, Aug 8; 8 am – 1 pm
American Legion Hall, 225 E. Holding Ave.
American Legion Post 187 will hold a pancake and sausage breakfast on
the second Sunday of each month at the Legion Hall, across from the Wake
Forest Post Office. All-you-can-eat pancakes, sausage, orange juice
and choice of hot beverage for only $5 per person/$20 max per family.
